As Philadelphia's most prominent outdoor classroom, the Zoo leverages its collection of 1,300 rare and endangered animals and the expertise of its staff to expand our guests' knowledge of threats facing the species with whom we share this planet. To advance the Zoo's mission, we provide our 1.3 million annual guests (including 120,000 students visiting in school groups, 65,000 underserved students from Title 1 schools) with the knowledge and tools to act on behalf of the environment.

Students gain hands-on experience through ZooCREW.

We teach local actions can create global change.

The Zoo cultivates volunteers into change agents.
